The envirothon team has been a popular group at CHS and has had many successful competitions. Envirothon is an environmental education program and competition that aims to foster a love for the environment, guide the next generation of environmental leaders, and inspire a commitment to sustainable practices. Through a variety of activities, including field studies and written tests, Envirothon challenges students to explore topics like soil science, wildlife, forestry, and aquatic ecosystems. Students attend field days throughout the school year and work in teams in order to prepare a project focused on a current issue that will be presented at a regional competition in May. It is under the direction of Ms. Liberty Oko, a CHS graduate and former team member. She is excited to lead this great group of young people as they study and learn about the many wonderful aspects of nature in the great state of Maine. Contact Ms. Oko if you'd like to be a part of this fun and educational team.
